QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify for an Italian Investor Visa, you must be a non-EU citizen and make a single investment in one of the following:

  • A Government Bond issued by the Italian Republic.
  • A Company incorporated and operating in Italy.
  • An Innovative Startup.
  • A Philanthropic Donation towards public interests such as culture, education, immigration management, scientific research, and preservation of cultural and natural heritage.

Investment Criteria

AVAILABLE OPTIONS

The programmes’ qualifying options are:

1. Investor Visa

  • To be eligible for the Italian Investor Visa, you must meet one of the following three requirements:

    • Invest a minimum of 2 million in Italian government bonds.
    • Invest a minimum of 500,000 in Italian shares (reduced to 250,000 if investing in innovative start-ups).
    • Invest a minimum of 1 million in projects that serve public interests in Italy, including culture, education, ecology, immigration management, research and development, arts, and heritage. This investment is non-refundable.

    It is mandatory to maintain the investment for the duration of the visa’s validity. Additionally, the spouse, children, and dependent parents of the primary applicant may also apply for a visa without any additional investment.

2.Elective Residence Programme

The Elective Residence Programme is an additional qualifying option that is suitable for individuals who can demonstrate a stable annual income from abroad at a certain threshold.

DURATION OF RESIDENCE PERMIT

The Investor Visa is initially granted for two years and can be renewed for an additional three years, provided the investment is sustained. After five years, permanent residence is possible, subject to the investor’s relocation to Italy.

RENEWAL OF INVESTOR VISA RESIDENCE PERMIT

To maintain your Residence Permit, you must demonstrate that you have sustained your investment or donation, and you can renew it every three years. Renewal applications should be submitted at least 60 days before the expiry date through the Investor Visa portal online.

Your application will be evaluated by the Investor Visa Committee to determine if you have sustained your investment/donation.

Upon completing five years of continuous residency, you can request long-term Italian residency.
