1- Start your own Buisness

In order to start your own business, you will need:

  • A minimum investment of 5,000,000 yen (US$ 46,800). You are more likely to get the investor visa if you have made a large investment, assuming you have met all other requirements. When the incorporation process is completed, you will be able to use the money you invested in your business.
  • The business plan. Transparency, consistency, and compliance with current Japanese legislation should characterize your business. It is important to demonstrate that your company will yield results and profits and that it can be operated.
  • A valid business license. There are some types of businesses that require proper certifications, such as hotels, guesthouses, and restaurants.
  • Professional background and work history. It is a requirement that you have three years of relevant experience in the field of business where you intend to establish a company in Japan.
  • The office. You should be able to use it as a business premise. A guarantor in Japan can assist you in finding a suitable workplace.
  • A co-founder or co-director. The company’s directors should at least one be Japanese. Foreign nationals with long-term visas, as well as Japanese nationals, could be eligible.

**Applicants who are residing outside of Japan at the time of application must find a co-founder or co-director who meets this requirement. It is also required that your company has at least two full-time Japanese employees (along with you).
