WHY CHOOSE CYPRUS

  • The application procedure is highly efficient, within two months.
  • There is a high approval rate if all criteria are satisfied.
  • It is not necessary to reside in Cyprus, but a visit once every two years is required.

  • Residence applies to the whole family (applicant, spouse, and children up to the age of 18 years old).

QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify applicants must:

  • Possess a valid passport.
  • Hold no criminal record.
  • Not have been rejected by any other member-state of the EU.
  • Provide proof of funds.

MINIMUM RESIDENCY CONDITIONS

The residence permit holder must visit Cyprus at least once every two years to maintain their residence status.

The property (or one to the same value)  must be retained to keep residency.

Investment Criteria

AVAILABLE OPTIONS

In 2023 the following criteria apply to investors looking for Cyprus residency. The applicant must invest at least €300.000 in one of the following categories:

  • Buy a residential brand new property.It can be a house or apartment bought for at least €300,000 (plus VAT). It can also be two properties for the above amount, and the investor can purchase them from different development companies. Off Plan properties are also included irrespective of the delivery date.This type of investment in real estate is the same as per the previous program. The below are the new ones.
  • Purchase commercial properties.It may include offices, shops, hotels, or related developments. It can also be a combination of those. They can be resales / used properties as well.
  • Invest in Cyprus Company’s share capital.To purchase shares or establish a Cyprus company and invest in the share capital. The company needs to be based and operating in the Republic of Cyprus and have a proven physical presence and employee minimum of five (5) people.
  • Invest in Units of Cyprus Investment Organization of Collective Investments (forms of AIF, AIFLNP, RAIF)To purchase units in any of the above mentioned.

INCOME CRITERIA

  • To apply for the Immigration Permit under PR 6(2), the applicant must pay a minimum of €300,000 (plus VAT) to the Developer, regardless of the property delivery date. Relevant receipts should be provided with the application.
  • The investment funds must come from the Bank Account of the main applicant or his/her spouse, provided that the spouse is included as a dependent on the application. The main applicant must demonstrate a secured annual income of at least €50,000. The annual income can be increased by €15,000 for the spouse and €10,000 for each minor child of the applicant and/or his/her spouse.
  • The main applicant can only prove the secured annual income through their tax return from the country where they are considered a tax resident. All adult applicants must provide a Clean Criminal Record from their country of origin and their country of residence, in case they differ.
  • Health Insurance Certificates must be provided for all family members to cover inpatient and outpatient medical treatment. The property that will be used as the investment and declared as the permanent residence must have sufficient bedrooms to meet the needs of the main applicant and their dependent family.
  • As dependent family members, the main applicant can only include their spouse, minor children, and adult children up to the age of 25 who are financially dependent on the main applicant and are university students. Parents and/or parents-in-law are not accepted as dependent family members.

Once the PR 6(2) application is approved by the Civil Registry and Migration Department, the applicant must provide annual evidence to the department from the date of obtaining the Immigration Permit that they maintain the investment, maintain the required income for themselves and their family, and that they and their family members have a health insurance certificate if they are not beneficiaries of GHS/GESY (General Health System).

Additionally, the applicant and their adult family members must provide an annual certificate of a clean criminal record from their country of origin, as well as from their country of residence.
