WHY CHOOSE MALTA

A European lifestyle in a Mediterranean setting. Malta is both politically stable and economically solid and well located with short distance air travel to other European countries. The Malta Residence and Visa Programme (MRVP) offers non-Maltese persons the possibility of acquiring an EU residence card that offers visa-free travel within Europe’s Schengen Area. You should also consider Malta to relocate your business as the Maltese legal and tax systems are amongst the most favourable in Europe.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Open to non-EU nationals.
  • Applicant must provide an affidavit declaring that from the date of the application onwards, he/she is in receipt of an annual income of not less than hundred thousand euro (€100,000) arising outside Malta or has in his/her possession, capital of not less than five hundred thousand euro (€500,000).
  • Applicants must have a valid travel document.
  • Applicants must have all-covering EU health insurance.
  • Adhere to strict due diligence checks.
  • Clean criminal record.

Investment Criteria

AVAILABLE OPTIONS

The investor is required to:

  • Rent a property for a minimum of €10,000 (South of Malta/Gozo) or  €12,000 in the rest of Malta or purchase a property for a minimum value of €300,000 (South of Malta/Gozo) or €350,000 in the rest of Malta.
  • Pay a Government contribution of €28,000 if purchasing a property or €58,000 if renting a property.
  • Pay an additional €7,500 for each additional adult dependant (except spouse).
  • Pay a non-refundable administrative fee of €40,000
  • Make a donation of €2,000 to a local philanthropic,  cultural, scientific, artistic, sport or animal welfare NGO registered with the Commissioner of Voluntary Organisations.

CONDITIONS

Property and investments must be held for a minimum of five years.
