WHY CHOOSE SPAIN

The Spain Golden Visa, also known as the residence by investment programme, enables foreign nationals to make a substantial investment in Spain and apply for an investor visa. Upon approval, the visa holders and their families can enjoy visa-free travel throughout the Schengen Area in Europe.

Under this programme, individuals and their immediate family members can obtain residency in Spain (via a temporary residence permit) in less than a month. Subject to the general immigration regulations and requirements, investment residents may obtain permanent residency status after five years of continuous residence in Spain and can subsequently become Spanish citizens.

To meet the requirements for acquiring Spanish Golden Visa, you must satisfy the following conditions:

  1. Investment Proof: You must provide evidence of having made one of the investment options outlined by the authorities.
  2. Age Requirement: Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  3. Health Insurance: It is mandatory to obtain valid health insurance coverage in Spain.
  4. Financial Capability: You need to demonstrate that you possess sufficient financial means to support yourself and any accompanying family members.
  5. Clean Criminal Record: You must have a clear criminal history in all the places you have previously resided.
  6. Not Listed as Undesirable: You should not be included in Spain’s list of undesirable individuals.
  7. No Rejected Schengen Visas: It is important that you have not faced rejection for any Schengen Visas in the past.

Investment Criteria

To meet the requirements for a Spanish Golden Visa, an individual must undertake one of the following investments:

  1. Purchase real estate in Spain worth a minimum of €500,000, which can be a single property or multiple properties with a combined value of at least €500,000.
  2. Invest at least €2,000,000 in the Spanish public debt.
  3. Buy shares in a company or make a deposit of at least €1,000,000 in a Spanish bank.
  4. Invest in a new business that will create employment opportunities, make contributions to scientific and/or technological innovation, and have a significant socio-economic impact in the region where the business is established.

ACQUIRING CITIZENSHIP

Spanish citizenship is available for residents after 10 years of residing in Spain. However, individuals belonging to specific groups such as Sephardi Jews, citizens of Equatorial Guinea, Latin America, and the Philippines can apply for Spanish citizenship after completing only two years of effective residency in Spain. Nevertheless, dual citizenship limitations are applicable to most foreign nationals.
